Happy Holidays!

Bad weather and some hydro outages thwarted our Dec. 16 practice which was cancelled and we also didn't meet this Wednesday (holidays and more bad weather).

Consensus is that our next meeting will be Wednesday, January 6 at 7 p.m.

Here are some links to some Christmas songs to try until then:

Here are the songs the group practiced at the Dec. 9 session:Try to RememberSomethingStand by Me (or check thepractice video version on the sidebar), Walking After Midnight,HallelujaClass of '57 and Where Have All the Flowers Gone.

PLEASE NOTE: We will be meeting again this month, this Wednesday, December 16, 2015, same time, same place, upstairs in the Golden Prairie Arts Gallery.

Here are the songs the group practiced at the Dec. 9 session: Try to Remember, SomethingStand by Me (or check the practice video version on the sidebar), Walking After Midnight, Halleluja, Class of '57 and Where Have All the Flowers Gone.

Thanks Lana for the update. I should be able to make the next session. Hope to see everyone there!

Also, I have linked the titles of the songs (except for Try to Remember) to the HUG 1, HUG 2 or Bytown Ukulelel Group versions. Please let me know if these are not the versions you practiced and I will change them to the correct versions.

Here is a good practice video for Halleljua in the key of G.

Here are the songs Lorna said the group practiced at the session: Edelweiss, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Something (in HUG Songbook #1, check index on last page) and Mele Kalikimaka

They also played Crazy (Patsy Cline), Dream, Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen), King of the Road (in G), All I Want for Christmas, Walking After a Midnight and perhaps "a few more" that Lorna says she may have forgotten.

If you know, let me know and I'll post them :)

The next session will be upstairs in the Golden Prairie Art Gallery on Wednesday, December 9 at 7 p.m. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend again :(. This time at least I will be enjoying some music, helping out with the band concert at the school.

CORRECTION: Dec. 16 will be the last meeting before Christmas not Dec. 9 as previously posted. Please watch this space for information on our January meetings.
