Wednesday, August 24
Lorna, Judy, Louise and Lynn played Silver Wings, Love me Tender, Walk Away, Lie Down Beside Me, Unclouded Day and possibly some other tunes (I will add them here as the players remember).
Some of us have begun practicing some Christmas/holiday tunes including Heather who recommends Cynthia Lin's Christmas jam from last year here (there is a song book you can download in the comments). She has a number of additional Christmas and other tutorials available online as well. Lana will be bringing along a chord melody arrangement of Silent Night next Wednesday. Be sure to check out the great Christmas/holiday arrangements on the Bytown Ukulele website (see the link on the sidebar).
Becky in particular has been practicing the songs for the mass appeal ukulele concert on Sept. 15 at the Forks. You can find all of the songs and recordings of the songs in a previous post.
Contact Brenda Major at Golden Prairie Art Council if you are interested in participating in a ukulele workshop conducted by Kate Ferris in Carman the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 18. The cost is $55 for gallery members and $60 for non-members. A gallery membership is $15. The workshop will require 10 participants to go ahead and will be tailored by Kate to all levels. You will need to bring a ukulele.
We will meet again Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the top floor of the gallery.
