Verna, Barry, Linda, Lana, Heather, AJ, Louise, Lynn, and Lorna met upstairs in the gallery.
We played: Wabash Cannonball (brought by Barry), Silver Wings, Harvest Moon, and Grow Old With You. We tried Something Stupid from the Vancouver Circle book but decided we should work on it first individually at home.
We then played: Sweet Caroline, Wagon Wheel, Five Hundred Miles? of Elbow Room at Lynn's request (or maybe it was only 50?), Walk Away, I Believe in Music (from Petey Mack's arrangement), Suitcase in my Hand, House of Gold, Jail House (on the drive), Cryin' Time, l'll Fly Away, The Cuckoo (a new song Louise brought), Fannin Street, One Tin Soldier, Michael Row your Boat Ashore in C (Verna's arrangement which is on the drive and on the blog. There was some confusion as some of us had another version in G which we tried first. Also, Verna wondered if we could try it a little slower next time), Wildflowers, I'll See you in my Dreams, Just Because at a fast clip led by Lana with a big finish and our signature set ending song.
We decided that we would play at Tempo Festival at the evening session, playing Harvest Moon (which sounded the best it ever has tonight we think), and another song yet to be chosen. EDIT: the festival normally only hosts one evening session which would be Tuesday, April 10, so, please let us know next week if that still works.
Keep your ear to the ground and your eyes peeled (or wait for an email from Lana) for additional information regarding the Ukulele Club of Winnipeg Prairie Jamboree Ukulele Festival this September.

We meet to strum and sing Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Golden Prairie Arts Council building, otherwise known as the old train station, in Carman, Manitoba, Canada.

I'm not sure who attended or what songs were played on February 14th as neither Lana nor I were in attendance.
Just a reminder that we will not be playing at the Boyne Lodge on February 21 but will meet at the gallery at 7 p.m. as usual due to illness at the Lodge. We have been scheduled to play at the Lodge on Wednesday, March 21 at 6 p.m. instead.

Wedneday, February 7, 2018
We played: January wedding, Down on the Corner, Log Driver's Waltz in G (Lori will modify a few chords) then C, and Wagon Whee. We were going to play Michael Row your Boat (Verna's arrangement which is on the blog) but most people still need to print it out for next week. We would like to play it at the Lodge in two weeks.
We then played Harvest Moon and Passing Through. We decided we would like to play Come On Up to the House at future strums. It too can be found on the blog and printed.
We followed up with Don't be Cruel, Farewell to Nova Scotia (from the Vancouver book but also on the blog), Bad Moon Rising in G (most have transposed the chords in the Vancouver book), Jambalya (from the songs Kate Ferris gave us - Lana is this on the drive?), Rain and Snow, Unclouded Day, Jolene, Song for a Winter's night, Silver Wings, April Showers (from the drive which people will need to print as it is in an easier key to sing than the Vancouver book version), Down in the Valley transposed to C with G7, and Cryin' Time.
We wanted to play Peaceful Easy Feeling but that was another song members may want to print as most didn't have the chord sheet. We instead played Grow Old With You (playing Gs and not the G7s before the final ending part), Working Man, A Horse with No Name (Lana will prepare a version for the blog as this was from the Silver Creek International Ukulele Carnival), Walk Away, Fifty Miles of Elbow Room and our signature set ending song.
Lana reminded members about the Prairie Jamboree in September.
We will practice upstairs at the gallery next Wedneday, February 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Lodge (starting at 6 p.m.) the following Wednesday on February 21.
Here is the set list for February 21st. Please also bring your binders as we will play other songs as well.
