Anyone interested in playing a performance piece or two at the Boyne River Ukulele Strum and Picnic on Sunday, June 9 has been meeting at 6:30 upstairs at the gallery.

Lana has uploaded the changes for Make You Feel My Love to the drive. For those with print materials, "could" has been taken from the last verse of the song. A new copy of Grandpa Was a Carpenter in G has also been uploaded. I will add both to the blog. Lana also notes that on Moon River we end on C G C.

Although the park and school (backup for rain) has been booked since last June for our strum and picnic, Heather re-confirmed the bookings, and re-issued invitations to the Ukulele Club of Winnipeg, the Brandon Ukulele Club and the Prairie Strummers in Portage.

You can find out more on the Facebook event page shared to each club page and my own page. I will try and put up a few posters by the end of April as well.

Remember our blues workshop with Manitoba Hal Brolund at the gallery on Wednesday, June 5th during our regular strum time. The cost is $25/person with an overall cap of $300 courtesy of Manitoba Hal.

The group met upstairs at the gallery (this will be the regular meeting spot now).

Apparently from the notes I saw in response to Lana's note below, Lana did a great job conducting members in a new to us song, Today.

- Heather

A note from Lana:

Sorry for the "conducting" last night, but "Today" is one of my all-time favourite songs by the New Christie Minstrels-- here is a link to the best rendition of this song-- ever (note the pause before... Today) LOL

Great strum last night.

Marge, Cathy, Louise, Lana, Barry, Ryan, Lori, Tom, Linda plus three guests attended.

Another great Wednesday evening with several guest performers.  Sorry I don't know the names of the three people that Lori introduced us to, but Ryan, Barry's grandson, played along-- loved Lynn's banjo uke.

We played two new songs.  I have updated the drive with Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain in the key of G and the new songs On top of Spaghetti and Relax Your Mind

Please note that Lana fixed up Dream a Little Dream of Me and uploaded it and Wait So Long to the drive.  I have also added them to the blog. - H
